Study Hall Research expands staff; announces addition of Joel Taylor as Associate Research Consultant

Effective October 22, Study Hall Research announces the addition of Joel Taylor as Associate Research Consultant.

Prior to joining Study Hall, Joel worked on the editorial and operations staff at Tampa Tribune, Tampa’s daily newspaper for more than 100 years.  A journalist of more than 15 years, Joel performed page design and copy editing duties at the Tribune, designing the front page multiple times weekly and consulting on a redesign and rebranding of the newspaper in 2014.

Addressing this new staff addition, Rodney Kayton (Managing Partner – Study Hall) said, ‘We are pleased to add Joel to the Study Hall team, as he brings a unique and diverse set of skills and experiences to the firm.  His combination of analytical and critical thinking, combined with strong digital background and his significant knowledge of key business sectors made him a valuable addition to the team here.’  Kayton added, ‘We look forward to his ability to quickly add impact to client engagements and Study Hall’s internal and ongoing operations.’

In his position as a part of the Study Hall team, Joel will work with primary marketing research assignments on both the qualitative and quantitative sides of research.  Joel will also be a key part of Study Hall’s Digital Dialogue™ team that curates and moderates asynchronous discussion-based research across a range of target audiences and business sectors.  He will also assume significant responsibility for quantitative analytics in the healthcare sector.  And Joel will take leadership of Study Hall’s expanding digital media presence.

Joel’s previous news experience includes News Desk, editorial and other assignments at newspapers as diverse as the Los Angeles Times and the leading entertainment business-to-business daily The Hollywood Reporter, where he served as Editor, East Coast edition.

Mr. Taylor also brings considerable experience in healthcare and managed care. He served as a Provider Communication Specialist at WellCare Health Plans of Tampa, FL.  Joel also administered WellCare’s internal intranet site for its operations department.  Joel also served as Project Manager/Technical Writer for the Inspiris Home Visiting Physician product, which was purchased by UnitedHealth Group’s Optum division in 2011, managing implementation of its chronic care program for health plan customers nationwide.

A music and entertainment aficionado, Joel spends as much time as possible attending concerts in the Tampa Bay Area and playing his guitar at home (when his duties as father of a 1-year-old son allow).  When he’s not working or rocking out, he enjoys cycling the many trails in the Bay Area.  Joel holds his Bachelor’s degree from the University of La Verne in California.
